For instance, if you toss one zombie at another, they will just pass by one another with no interaction. If we had to come up with one complaint regarding the ZombieSmash it’d have to be the lack of collisions between zombies. At first you may need to defend the left side of your house, then all of a sudden things will slide over and you need to defend the right, finally you might need to fend off the undead from both sides at the same time (giving those thumbs a workout). Unlike other castle defense games, ZombieSmash does a nice job of alternating your point of view throughout the game to keep things fresh. For instance, when you kill the final zombie of a level you get a Mortal Kombat-style “FINISH HIM!!” request and a video camera view pops up, allowing you to have some additional fun performing your own “finishing move”, tossing the zombie (or perhaps just its head or leg) in slow motion. The amount of care and attention to detail that obviously went into crafting this game is immediately evident and cool special effects and fine little details add to the game’s ambiance an appeal.

When you terminate a zombie, a star will appear, tap to collect these stars to purchase special weapon upgrades. You must use your fingers to flick, smash, dismember and even bounce the undead until they are…well…”un-undead”. You play as Joey, a lone survivor pit against hoards of hungry zombies trying desperately to break into your house for a little grey-matter gazpacho. Also, this game is simply begging for some sort of accelerometer usage, and more then one map would be nice.Simply put, for anyone who is a fan of ragdoll physics simulators, castle defense games, flicking games or just plain hates zombies, GameDoctors has created the perfect game for you! ZombieSmash expertly blends elements of all these genres (and more) into a creative, gory and humorous game of survival, with stunning graphics and sound, and plenty of variety and replayability. The guns are an important aspect of the gameplay but can extremely hard to aim (especially when you’re facing zombies from both sides of the house). There are times where the player is put in helpless situations in which a weapon is needed, but cannot be found. The gameplay, though great, is not perfect. Though the game features no multiplayer, there is an extensive online community offering leader boards, news, and a message board. Finally there is a “Sandbox” option, where the player has the ability to test out weapons and practice skills without worrying about dying. The second mode is “Endless Siege,” a survivor mode in which you defend against wave after wave of zombies until you are overrun.
#ZOMBIESMASH THEME UPGRADE#
There are three modes of play: first, the campaign mode, which includes 31 stages, two difficulty levels, and the ability to unlock and upgrade weapons. The weapons are well varied and fantastically fun to use, the sound effects are realistic and believable, and the physics engine creates a level of variety unseen in defense games. Gamedoctors spent a great deal of time on this app, and it shows.
